Victor Gyokeres has already informed Arsenal of his views towards a potential transfer this summer.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Sporting Lisbon striker this summer. Mikel Arteta is rumoured to be determined to add a new centre-forward to his squad ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Gyokeres scored 43 goals in 50 appearances and helped guide Sporting to the Primeira Liga title in his first season. The striker had only arrived last summer from Coventry City in a deal reportedly worth £20million and is already being tipped for another move.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal are preparing an initial offer for Gyokeres which is thought to be worth between £55million and £60million. This bid would be below the £86million release clause in his contract at Sporting.
The article claims that Arsenal will submit the offer once Eddie Nketiah leaves the club, with Marseille reported to be the striker’s destination.
Chelsea are also mentioned in the report as showing an interest in signing Gyokeres, who has been identified as a target and an alternative to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
It was earlier this summer that rumours surrounding Gyokeres’ future began to ramp up following the conclusion of top-flight seasons across Europe. after helping Sporting win the league title in Portugal, the striker spoke about what may be next for him amid speculation that he could leave the club this summer.
