Gabriel Magalhaes Arsenal exit transfer threat now imminent as shock double deal being assessed

Six weeks are left for Arsenal to do business in the summer window and there is plenty of change still possible. Mikel Arteta’s side are yet to really get going so far, although the wait for a significant deal is soon to end.

Unfortunately for David Raya and Tommy Setford, their permanent deals do not satiate the transfer Gods like big-money moves often do. Even with the lengthy gap between an initial agreement with Riccardo Calafiori over personal terms and now finally a club-to-club understanding, it is more like it.

The Italian is expected to become the first real addition to Arteta’s squad as he prepares to get down to action in America on the club’s pre-season tour. He and the group have already touched down and been practising but next it is friendly time and the true analysis can take place.

Gabriel exit

The arrival of Calafiori could threaten the future of Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal, reports suggest. Calafiori is able to play both full-back and centre-back, preferring to be on the left side either way.

Gabriel currently occupies the slot next to William Saliba as undisputed right centre-back first-choice. Together the pair have created one of the fiercest backlines in the world.
