Manchester United new boy Leny Yoro admits he cannot wait to test himself in the Premier League

The teenager sealed a move from Lille last week and made his first appearance in the 2-0 friendly win over Rangers in Edinburgh, performing with his customary style and composure.

As Tour 2024, presented by Snapdragon, offers fresh tests, in the shape of Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool, the centre-back has admitted in his first major interview with club media that the Premier League has a special lure for him, because it is the best league on the planet.

“Yeah, for me, this is the biggest championship in the world,” he told us. “For me, the Premier League… this is where the football fully exists. So the fans, the level – because the level is crazy there, there is not an easy game – and, for me, the Premier League is the biggest in the world.”

Yoro will hopefully soon get a taste of what top-flight football feels like at Old Trafford, with the Reds opening the season with a Friday night home game against Fulham on 16 August.
