Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee has hinted his focus is elsewhere as Manchester United edges closer to completing a deal for the forward.
Zirkzee, Bologna and the Reds are progressing well and United are confident they will be able to complete a deal before the month ends. The 23-year-old has a £33m release clause inserted into his contract at the Serie A club.
However, this figure will not be the end of the costs for United if they want to bring Zirkzee on board. The forward’s agent fees could balloon the cost for Zirkzee significantly with sources in Italy suggesting the fee is more likely to be £46m for the striker.
United are prepared to accept this as the overall package for Zirkzee, who scored 12 goals in all competitions last season, is seen as reasonable. Currently, the striker is with the Netherlands squad at Euro 2024.
