Out since the start of March with an ankle injury, Frenkie De Jong could make his return to the starting line-up when Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain in a UEFA Champions League quarter-final at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
De Jong suffered the injury against Athletic in early March. He has since been working his way back to fitness. The Dutchman is part of the squad that has travelled to Paris and on the eve of the match against PSG, he participated in the full session for Barcelona. “We will take a decision tomorrow depending on how they’re feeling,” said Xavi in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
The Spaniard was also referring to another midfielder Pedri. Like De Jong, the Spain international has made the trip to France. Pedri was also injured during the match against Athletic at the start of March, withdrawing at half-time with a hamstring injury. He is in the group but may not start.
