The England squad are now together as they look to win Euro 2024.
The Three Lions are tasked with bringing football ‘home’ this summer as they look to win the Euros for the first time ever after reaching the final back in 2021.
Ivan Toney has been included in the squad this time around, and speaking to TalkSPORT, the striker has been discussing a number of his teammates.
Toney has now spent a lot of time with his England teammates through numerous camps and squads, and he’s now named who he believes is the best trainer in the England team.
England, of course, have a number of players who work incredibly hard on the training pitch such as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, but according to Toney, Declan Rice is in fact the best trainer in the England squad.
Declan Rice is England’s best trainer
Toney spoke about the Arsenal star and how hard he works in training.
“I want to know all about your England teammates? Who is the best trainer?
“Probably Declan Rice,” Toney said.
Declan Rice is a future captain
Declan Rice is the man setting the standards in England training at the moment, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was the Three Lions’ captain one day.
Harry Kane currently holds that title, but at the age of 30, his international career will be winding down in a few years’ time.
When that time comes, Rice would be a suitable contender to be the England captain, and the same applies at club level.
Indeed, if Martin Odegaard were to ever leave Arsenal, Rice would surely be the next in line to get the armband.
Rice is someone who leads by example both on and off the pitch, and it’s not at all surprising to hear that he’s one of the best trainers in the England team.
