“He taught me to have a good attitude,’ he said in an interview with L’Equipe. “Sometimes he thought I was a little soft in training so he asked me to be meaner. In fact, he wants the players to be scared when he sees me.
“He took me to another level. He is one of the best coaches in the world. He looks at all the details and hates defeat. We work on each match differently.”
Theo Walcott urges Arsenal to complete double transfer
The former Gunners star has urged his former club to sign two Premier League players to help them compete with Manchester City next year.
He told SunSport: “Arsenal did great, they competed throughout the whole season and learnt a lot from previous mistakes.
“I think what Mikel Arteta has done and the atmosphere at Arsenal is incredible. What we are missing is a striker, and to have that balance on the bench.
“I’d say that’s the one thing, maybe Mikel didn’t trust his bench as much. I’m looking at someone like an Alexander Isak or an Ollie Watkins who’s been established in the Premier League.
“We may look abroad but I’m a big believer in someone who is proven in the Premier League.”
