Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy are plotting a double swoop for former Borussia Dortmund pair Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski.
The MLS side had already been linked heavily with Reus following his decision to part ways with Die Schwarzgelben. As per Mundo Deportivo, they are now also targeting Barcelona’s Lewandowski as they look to return to the levels they had set earlier.
Lewandowski’s influence on Barcelona has been dwindling over the last year after a good start to life under Xavi Hernandez. With Hansi Flick now having taken over at the Catalan side, it is expected that he will not be willing to let the Polish striker leave with the two having held a great relationship since their time at Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski has mentioned his idea of moving to the United States closer to the end of his playing career as he and his wife ‘have always wanted to live’ Stateside. The Pole also mentioned that before the COVID pandemic in 2020, he had thought about the potential move to the MLS.
LA Galaxy know the difficulties regarding the signing of Lewandowski this summer and they will eventually be planning to sign the striker in 2025.
