Four Barcelona players have been nominated for the annual Golden Boy Award which is handed to the best Under-21 player in Europe.
Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi are on the 100-strong longlist along with midfielder Gavi and January signing Vitor Roque.
Barcelona have made a habit of winning this award in recent years. Pedri and Gavi have both claimed the prize, and it would be no surprise to see another Blaugrana finish top this year.
Yamal is the current favorite to scoop the trophy after an excellent breakthrough season under Xavi at Barcelona.
The teenager has already cemented his place in the team and is also established in the senior Spain squad.
He’s expected to face competition from the likes of Benfica starlet Joao Neves, Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and PSG prospect. Warren Zaire-Emery.
Barcelona have more candidates on the list than any other team. Premier League side Brighton are the only other club with four players nominated.
