Alejandro Balde could be set for a key role at Barcelona next season under new manager Hansi Flick.
The left-back missed most of the second half of the season because of a hamstring injury but is expected to be fully fit for the start of the new campaign.
Balde has already met his new boss, with the club showing the two chatting after it was announced Flick had replaced Xavi at the helm.
Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that Flick sees Balde as his ‘Alphonso Davies’ and wants the defender to play the same kind of role as the Canadian did under him at Bayern.
Davies ran riot when Bayern hammered Barcelona in the Champions League and Flick wants a similar attacking threat from Balde next season.
Balde is also said to be extremely motivated by the arrival of Flick as he thinks his “system adapts very well to his qualities.”
The youngster certainly should be raring to go after a significant time out of the game.
