Arsenal are looking to improve their squad this summer and could be edging closer to signing a player who is just like Bukayo Saka.
The Gunners want to add new faces to the group this summer to freshen things up after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title once again.
Mikel Arteta has his targets and as usual, Arsenal are looking to move quickly to sign them.
Young forward Benjamin Sesko is a player Arsenal are thought to like a lot, with Sesko himself apparently being keen to join the Gunners.
However, according to reports from Belgium, Arsenal have also made an approach for another forward.
Arsenal make approach for Johan Bakayoko
According to a report from HBVL, both Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs to have made an approach for the young winger.
Bakayoko is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now and is being tracked by a number of big clubs.
However, it’s claimed that both Arsenal and Liverpool are the ones who’ve actually made some sort of move.
Interestingly, Bakayoko himself has also hinted that he’d be more than happy to move to the Premier League this summer, if the deal can be done.
Lauded as being a player who is ‘incredibly explosive‘, PSV are thought to be looking for around £51m to let the young winger go.
A player like Saka to put pressure on Saka
It’s long been thought Arsenal need someone who can come in and do the business when Bukayo Saka is either injured or in need of a rest.
Luckily for them, it looks like Johan Bakayoko is a player in that mould.
Bakayoko has been compared the Arsenal winger by Adrian Clarke, who lauded the youngster.
“There’s a player on the right wing, their most exciting player and most dangerous player is the right winger. A kid called Johan Bakayoko,” Clarke said.
“He’s only 20, he’s quick, he’s like Saka, he’s their version of Saka. He plays off the right and is left-footed.”
Bakayoko, then, very much looks like a player who Mikel Arteta can make use of if he signs.
