Texas landed four players inside the top 25 in the class of 2025.
The Longhorns bolstered their defense with a pair of five-star safeties Jonah Williams and Kade Phillips.
Four of Texas’ top five recruits in the class play on the defensive side of the ball. The other two are defensive linemen.
The bulk of the entire Texas class is built around reinforcing the program’s defense. Twelve total defensive players, five on the defensive line, five in the secondary and two linebackers, are part of the top-ranked class.
The biggest offensive addition is wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, who is the No. 21 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the class.
At minimum, the influx of talent into Austin should help keep Texas near the top of the SEC, and it might even improve the program’s standing in the long run.
