Hansi Flick became the latest Barcelona boss to fail to win at Getafe on Saturday night as the Catalan giants departed with just a point and bags of frustration.
Getafe is never an easy place to play for numerous reasons and Barca hadn’t tasted victory – or even scored – at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez since 2019.
That run continued on Saturday as Barca took the lead after just nine minutes but went on to concede and then saw Getafe employ their usual negative tactics to secure a precious point.
It was a far cry from midweek when Barca were smashing five past Betis in the Copa del Rey. At the same time, Getafe were sneaking past fourth division side Pontevedra 1-0 in a game where they boasted 16.4% possession and completed 79 passes (compared to Pontevedra’s 675).

Barcelona fail to take advantage of Atletico loss
Barcelona’s draw continues their disappointing La Liga form and comes after sparkling wins against Real Madrid and Real Betis in cup competition. However, it’s a different story in the league as Barca has now taken just six points out of the last 24 available.
Should Kounde have had a penalty?
Jules Kounde has turned into a goal machine this week for Barcelona. He scored in the win over Betis, and was unlucky not to bag a brace, and was on target again on Saturday.
Pedri was the architect with a pass that you’ll never get tired of watching, and one that thrilled Gerard Pique, while Kounde showed real determination to put the ball in the back of the net.
Yet the defender should probably have had two goals. Lewandowski’s header from a Balde cross only needed a touch at the far post from Kounde, or Ronald Araujo, but both missed.
