“I get stopped once a week and people will say, ‘Let me tell you what was going on with me during the Music City Miracle,’ ” Keith said. “I’ve met more people that were out hunting or working on the yard — you name it. They are all just cool stories because you see faces light up.”
Fans saw the play live. Or, they saw it on TV highlights. Or they heard Keith’s voice on the radio as he proclaimed: “There are no flags on the field.”
The Titans won the AFC wild card game, 22-16, after trailing by a point with 16 seconds left. Wycheck threw a lateral across the field to Dyson, who ran 75 yards for the score. The play stood after a lengthy review to see if Wycheck threw a forward pass.
“The play itself is amazing and incredible. And it shouldn’t have worked,” Keith said. “But the real story at 25, is the incredible impact that it had on human beings.”
“More than any, what that play did for our franchise at that moment in time, it bonded us to a community,” he added. “It gave us an identity. You say Music City Miracle anywhere and people know what it is.
