New Orleans Saints legend gives surprising HC endorsement

While the New Orleans Saints search for their next head coach, one name who has been given a ringing endorsement from a franchise legend is a certain coordinator on the Detroit Lions.

Brees referred to Glenn as a “leader of men” who “garners a ton of respect.” Glenn, the Lions’ defensive coordinator, has been brought up as a head coaching candidate during this cycle but has been mostly overshadowed due to the bidding war over Ben Johnson, the Lions’ offensive coordinator.

Brees’ praise for Glenn shouldn’t be considered too surprising, though. After all, they played together on the Saints in 2008, and then Glenn later returned to the organization as its defensive backs coach between 2016 and 2020.

Glenn is set to interview with the Saints, among other teams, later this week. Meanwhile, some other names who have been tied to the Saints’ opening include Buffalo Bills OC Joe Brady, Philadelphia Eagles OC Kellen Moore and incumbent interim HC Darren Rizzi.
