Barcelona are ready to offer veteran Spanish defender Inigo Martinez in order to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer, according to Marcos Duran. The La Liga giant want to sign the latter name on a permanent deal.
Joao Felix’s career at Barcelona so far
Joao Felix’s career has rejuvenated since he joined Barcelona at the start of the season. He has finally returned to flying colours and is looking in great shape. Despite not being a regular name on the lineup, he has contributed significantly to the ongoing campaign.
The Portuguese forward has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 35 appearances so far. He is averaging 2.2 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1 dribble per game. With over 80% passing accuracy rate, he can operate in the middle as well as on the left wing (stats via whoscored).
Felix has quality when it comes to holding the ball and providing key passes or through balls. His strong finishing skills add to the attacking options for Barcelona. Hence, Blaugrana want to sign him on a permanent deal after his loan period expires in June.
Will Atletico Madrid accept Inigo Martinez?
Barcelona already have the likes of Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo for the centre-back position. Now with the emergence of 17-year-old Pau Cubarsi, they are much more than secure for the concerned role.
