The Pittsburgh Steelers’ potential playoff opponents have been revealed after Saturday’s games. With the Denver Broncos losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers can no longer face Denver. And they have locked themselves into a top-six seed, meaning they could one of four teams.
The possible opponents for the Steelers are the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, or Los Angeles Chargers.
Buffalo can quash that scenario tomorrow with a win over the New York Jets. With that win, they would clinch the No. 2 seed, meaning they could not face the Steelers. If they did lose out and the Ravens won, however, the Bills could be the three seed.
The Steelers can also be the three seed, in which case they would only host the Chargers. For that to happen, the Steelers must beat the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ravens would have to lose to the Cleveland Browns, giving Pittsburgh the AFC North title.
Meanwhile, the Steelers, with a loss to the Bengals and a Chargers win over the Las Vegas Raiders, would drop to the sixth seed. If that happens, they will almost certainly play the Ravens and renew one of the NFL’s best rivalries.
