Luis Castillo will Be Traded to the Boston Red Sox

In the midst of free agency, trades are being negotiated and discussed as teams try to build their roster to begin the march to October and give them the best chance at the World Series trophy. We’ve seen some major trades happen already and could still be in for more. One of those big names that could be on the move is Mariners ace Luis Castillo. Even after making a big move for one of the brightest young arms in the games, the Boston Red Sox could still snag the three-time All-Star if the price is right.

The Red Sox have already made a splash this offseason trading for Garrett Crochet, who they acquired from the White Sox. The perfect recreation of the Chris Sale trade they pulled off in 2016. While that’s a great move to bring in a solid arm towards the top of the rotation, why not do it again? They always say you can never have too many arms, and the Red Sox could benefit from another solid top starter.

So far, the Red Sox currently have six starters in the mix, including Crochet. Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford had decent seasons and Bryan Bello can break out at any time. Along with them join Garrett Whitlock and Lucas Giolito.  While the rotation is decent as it stands, adding Luis Castillo could just transform this Sox staff into potentially one of the best in baseball.
