Pro-golfers Tiger Woods and Pádraig Harrington were beaming with pride as their teenage sons both hit a hole-in-one at the PNC Championship this past weekend.
Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of Tiger and Elin Nordegren, hit his first ever hole in one and aced the par-3 fourth, sending him and his father Tiger into the outright lead for the tournament on 17-under.
Less than an hour later, 21-year-old Irish golfer Paddy Harrington also hit a remarkable hole-in-one, earning a joyous response from his father. The newcomer and his father Pádraig carded an ace on the par-3 eighth, a shot which vaulted them into a tie for the lead.
The legendary Irish golfer, Pádraig Harrington, who hails from Dublin, said “I’ve never been as excited.”
Woods also expressed his immense pride at the event, saying: “Yeah, he (Charlie) beat me for nine holes. He has yet to beat me for 18 holes. That day is coming – I’m just prolonging it for as long as I possibly can.
“I think he’s doing a great job. In this day and age where you have so many different – everyone is basically media, with all the phones. Being constantly filmed and constantly people watching, that’s just part of his generation, and that’s part of the world that he has to manoeuvre through.
