Since making her societal debut at the annual Les Bal des Débutantes, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow has been branded as a “mean girl.” A few videos from the night went viral showing the singer stealing the spotlight from French Countess Aliénor Loppin de Montmort.
Everyone has rushed to Martin’s side including her mother’s team and the countess herself. Now, two weeks after the incident happened, she is finally speaking for herself.
The 20-year-old model took to TikTok, where the original videos circulated, to break her silence. Accompanied by two friends, Martin joked around and mimicked a voiceover saying: “I mean… I don’t know how anyone has a problem with us.”
One of her friends followed by mouthing: “we are such a delight we are two of the funniest girls.”
The video continued: “And I know us offline, when I tell you there aren’t two more generous charitable kind…”
The friend quickly took the TikTok afterwards.
While critics didn’t have time to respond, many had enough to say when the original video circled the platform.
One said: “Not a good behavior for such an event.”
