The New Orleans Saints (5-8) notched their fifth victory of 2024 in a dramatic 14-11 win at the New York Giants and return home to close out their season’s NFC East slate against the Washington Commanders (8-5).
A resurgent defense helped pace New Orleans in the victory, with a season-high of 13 passes defensed. The Washington Commanders snapped their three-game losing streak against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13 and are coming off a Bye for Week 14.
The Saints and Commanders have met 28 times, with Washington holding a 17-11 advantage in the series. Dating back to 2003, six of the nine contests have been decided by eight points or less, but the last two meetings have been Saints victories by 24 and 11-point margins.
The two teams last faced off October 10, 2021 when Saints quarterback Jameis Winston threw a 49-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to Marquez Callaway end the first half. The Saints won the game 33-22 at FedEx field.
