The Premier League have confirmed why William Saliba’s equaliser for Arsenal against Fulham on Sunday stood.

But Mikel Arteta’s side hit back after Kai Havertz headed Declan Rice’s corner into the path of Saliba who flicked home. There was a lengthy VAR check in west London and despite looking offside initially, the Frenchman was adjudged to be onside.
A statement has now been released to confirm this. “The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by the VAR as Saliba was in an onside position,” the official Premier League match centre account said on X,
