It is day two of the second international break of the Premier League season. Arsenal’s international stars have jetted off to represent their countries, while Mikel Arteta will be working with the young players and a number of players who have not gone on international duty back at London Colney.
The Gunners are in great form, which means the international break has probably come at the wrong time. However, getting the likes of Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Jurrien Timber back from injury – with a two-week rest – and allowing Kai Havertz and now Thomas Partey to recover might not be a bad thing.
While we await the return of football to our pitches, attention will also turn to the transfer window, with the winter window to open in little over two months’ time. Arteta will be looking for bargain deals to strengthen his squad for the second half of the campaign.
