Arsenal have been linked with a number of midfielders this summer.
The Gunners are said to be looking for a new central midfield option, and the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Joao Neves are said to be among the Gunners’ top targets.
Interestingly, Arsenal could now end up with a £61m midfielder as a part of a swap deal that could see Jakub Kiwior leave the club.
Arsenal could get Arthur Melo in a swap deal
According to TuttoJuve, Juventus could offer Arthur Melo to Arsenal in a swap deal for Jakub Kiwior.
The Brazilian midfielder hasn’t had the best of times in recent years as he’s struggled for fitness at Juventus, Liverpool and Fiorentina.
However, interestingly, it is said that Mikel Arteta is a fan of Arthur, and perhaps this could be a deal Arsenal look to do.
Kiwior has grown in importance at Arsenal, but given the fact that the Gunners have plenty of depth at the back, perhaps they could let Kiwior go if an offer comes in that could see Arthur Melo end up in north London.
Arthur Melo could shine at Arsenal
It’s been a long time since Arthur Melo has played his best football, but if he can rediscover his top form, this would be a seriously good deal for Arsenal.
Indeed, the midfielder was once a star for Barcelona, and there’s a reason Juventus paid £61m to sign him back in 2020.
Mikel Arteta is exactly the type of manager who could revive Arthur’s career, and his abilities could suit this Arsenal team to a tee.
Indeed, Arthur is very much cut from the same cloth as Jorginho in that he’s a tidy passer who sees the game in his head better than most others,
This deal would be a real gamble for Arsenal, but perhaps it’s one that they should consider as they do need to roll the dice in order to get to the next level in 2024/25.
