5 takeaways from the Jets’ 32-26 overtime loss to the Dolphins

What else is there to say? The Jets looked pretty good for a chunk of the game against the Dolphins. They still lost. More breakdown to come, but this is the fifth time this season New York has had a lead in the fourth quarter and lost. That’s a franchise record. Another Jets loss.
Even in the Jets’  New York started the game very well. This time, the Jets sustained it much longer which was a great sign. Prior to the past two outings, it’s been the opposite for Gang Green. Where have these hot starts been? Kudos to the Dolphins, even… nobody punted in the first half.

Well, well, well… the dynamic duo on New York’s offense has finally arrived. Albeit, way too late…

The Jets got a heck of an effort from their top receivers in Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson. Since New York acquired Adams Wilson has had more production. Adams has been spotty. This one was the first time both meshed well.

Wilson had seven catches for 114 yards. Adams had nine grabs for 109 yards and a touchdown. Still not enough

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finished 33-for-47 passing for 331 yards and two touchdowns. Not being sacked one time does not help the Jets’ fortunes.

Even so, Tagovailoa did not look good for a decent amount of Sunday’s action. New York still managed to give him enough time to work out a win.

Despite not having Sauce Gardner (knee), cornerback Brandin Echols played well in relief. DJ Reed was the one that struggled more, along with a lack of pass rush. Gang Green managed to do just a enough, again, to give hope… but another defeat.

Between untimely miscues, penalties and overall time-management decisions, this Jets locker room is lot. It’s a tongue-and-cheek comment to say “another Jets loss” in New York, but this one really showed it.

Adams went out of bounds late to give the Dolphins more time late–Why? A late kick return for Miami nearly 50 yards down the field–Why?
