An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona proved himself the star of the show on Saturday night.
This came as Barca Atlètic marched on to the final of the playoffs for promotion to La Liga 2.
The Blaugrana marked their return to action a short time ago.
After a 2-1 victory in the tie’s first leg, Rafa Márquez’s troops welcomed Ibiza to the Estadio Johan Cruyff, for the 2nd leg of the playoff semi-final meeting between the clubs.
And, when all was said and done, Barcelona did enough to book their spot in the playoff showpiece.
This came courtesy of a 5-3 triumph on the night, and 7-4 victory on aggregate.
After Ibiza stormed out into a 2-0 first-half lead, goals on the part of Marc Guiu and Pau Víctor either side of the interval dragged Barca back on level terms.
And, from here, it was the Unai Hernández show…
After first notching an assist, the midfield starlet went on to rattle off a hat-trick in the space of five 2nd-half minutes, to put Márquez’s men out of sight on the night.
Ibiza did manage to pull one back 25 minutes from time, but the damage had long been done, with Barca Atlètic now just a two-legged finale tie away from promotion to the 2nd tier of Spanish football.
